Mothers day

Happy Mothers day to all the Moms and Grandmas out there, and especially to my Mother and my Mother in Law. My Mother's day was pretty good. Jacob made me breakfast and he did a really good job (he is way into cooking), and I got some nice gifts from Mike and the kids (well, those were from Mike, too). The best part of the day was when all the men 12 - 100 yrs old got up in church and sang to us Moms! I was so impressed. That is what I call manliness - if you aren't ashamed to get up in front of a crowd and honor your mother (or your wife). It was sweet. I feel so blessed to be a Mom, even on the crazy days. Being a Mom has given me more opportunities to grow, and more priceless experiences than any other thing I could be doing. We have our difficulties, but I am truly grateful for my children and the chance to be their Mom.
I am blessed to have two great Moms as well. My own Mother is such an inspiration to me every day, and has taught me love, compassion, sacrifice, service, and a love of learning and love of God. She is truly a woman of faith and a continual example for me to follow. She is also one of my best friends!
My wonderful Mother in Law is also such a blessing in my life - she has welcomed me without reservation, been so accepting and supportive of me, and is an example of courage and strength in her everyday life. She maintains optimism while being firmly grounded, and I aspire to the quiet dignity she has. And, of course, she raised the love of my life, so that in itself is worthy of praise.

I love you mothers!
