San Antonio trip: the Temple, and the Alamo

While we were in San Antonio, we stopped to walk around the Temple grounds.  It is a small temple by some standards but very beautiful.  There is always a special peace around the temple grounds, wherever you go.

Beautiful stained glass windows on all sides - this one looked like the tree of life.
Next stop was another important building, special for another reason - the Alamo.  They don't let you take pictures inside, but it was a very interesting place and we learned a lot about the battle and the history that happened there.  The kids liked it more than I thought they would, although Jeremy got feeling a little yucky when he realized he was in a place where so many people died.  They liked the stories of the brave men, though, and seeing the places they had read about.  Texas really has some interesting history and a lot of passion for freedom.
