Alaina the little mommy

Here's Alaina with the huge care bear she got for her first birthday. It is bigger than her, but she drags it all around the house. She loves all stuffed animals, babydolls, and little ponies. It is so cute to see her cradle them on her shoulder and give them loves. Girls definitely come wired differently than boys - the boys would rather throw a dolly off a cliff and take its head off at that age (actually they still do that). I haven't taught her or the boys to play the ways they do, it is just instinct. Watching how little ones play makes it very clear, I think, how the divine roles of men and women are deeply rooted in us regardless of what the world teaches us that we should be and do. I am excited to see Lainey practicing her motherly skills already!
